What is the best gadget you have ever owned?

Seeing its Friday lets have some fun.  What is the best gadget you have ever owned and why? I will start.

The best gadget I have ever owned was my Nintendo Gameboy (which I still have). I got it for christmas when I was 9 (I think) and I was mesmerized!! I had only ever had an Atari 7800 (good piece of kit that too) beforehand and now had a portable game thingy. When you are 9 years old this was a big deal!!  I loved that the games loaded quickly (compared to say a spectrum) and the gameplay was awesome.  However it was rather limited when it came to colour (remember reading once that handheld systems would never get colour as it was not technically feasible!!) but that didn’t matter.  I could now play games anywhere.

So over to you what is the best gadget you have ever owned and why?
